Welcome to FWA St. Petersburg’s
Mystery-in-a-Month workshop for 2010.
What is the Mystery-in-a-Month Workshop? It’s a unique experience where a limited number of participants (30 max.) come together for 3 Saturday afternoons over a 4 week period to produce a complete short story, on its way to publication. The participants are broken into groups for revision and critique purposes. Each group is guided through the workshop with the same editor, providing continuity over the 4 week period.
Breaking news! I’ve been authorized to reveal some of the materials that each participant will receive. A copy (we’re working to get it autographed) of an Agatha winning non-fiction book on writing mysteries: Don’t Murder Your Mystery. Also, a copy of each of the top 2 mystery magazines, Alfred Hitchcock and Ellery Queen. The book will be useful far beyond the workshop, and the magazines will give you a good idea of what the top markets are looking for. The value of these materials is between 20 and 25% of your workshop cost. We strive to give you the best value we can.
The dates for the workshop are April 17, May 1, and May 15, 2010. From 2pm to 5pm each day.
